A hearing test is a simple, painless way to understand your hearing health and identify any changes early. At your appointment, our audiologist will take time to discuss your hearing history, listen to any concerns, and carry out a series of comfortable, non-invasive tests.

Once the assessment is complete, your results will be explained clearly and in plain language, so you fully understand your hearing and what it means for you.

You may benefit from a hearing test if you:

  • • Find it difficult to follow conversations, particularly in noisy environments
  • • Often ask people to repeat themselves
  • • Turn the television or radio up louder than others prefer
  • • Notice ringing, buzzing, or other unusual sounds in your ears
  • Regular hearing tests are recommended, especially if you are over the age of 50 or have been exposed to loud noise through work or leisure activities. We also recommend bringing a friend or family member to your appointment. They can offer support and help our audiologist gain a fuller picture of how your hearing may be affecting everyday life.
  • Our hearing tests are available to adults aged 18 and over and provide valuable insights into your overall hearing health.

Hearing aids & hearing loss solutions

If hearing loss is identified, our audiologist will guide you through the available options and recommend solutions tailored to your hearing needs, lifestyle, and budget. We offer a wide range of modern hearing aids that are comfortable, discreet, and highly effective. Today’s hearing aid technology is designed to improve speech clarity, reduce background noise, and help you hear more naturally in everyday situations.
We work with leading manufacturers including Oticon, Starkey, and Phonak, giving you access to some of the most advanced hearing aids available. With a variety of styles, colours, and features, there is a solution to suit every preference.

Following your hearing assessment, we will:

  • • Clearly explain your hearing test results
  • • Recommend appropriate hearing aid options where needed
  • • Professionally fit and fine-tune your hearing aids
  • • Provide ongoing aftercare, adjustments, and support

Our aim is to help you feel confident, comfortable, and supported at every stage. In some cases, hearing difficulties may be caused by ear wax build-up, which can reduce sound clarity and may not require hearing aids at all.

Payment Plan

If you choose hearing aids, spreading the cost can make things easier. The Hearing Care Partnership offers a simple, interest-free monthly payment plan to help you manage your budget comfortably. You can spread the cost over ten affordable monthly payments with no hidden fees or added charges. This allows you to enjoy improved hearing straight away while paying gradually over time. There are also other longer term plans available with low rate finance options.

Our other hearing services : In addition to hearing tests and hearing aids, we offer a full range of hearing care services, all delivered with the same level of clinical expertise and patient-focused care.

Ear wax removal : Excess ear wax can cause discomfort, muffled hearing, and may interfere with the performance of hearing aids. In some cases, it can be the sole cause of hearing difficulties.

We provide safe, effective ear wax removal using the latest recommended techniques. During your appointment, our clinician will assess your ears and select the most appropriate method based on your level of wax build-up, medical history, and ear health.

Following the procedure, we’ll carry out a quick hearing check so you can clearly notice the difference before and after your ear wax removal.

Hearing Protection

Protecting your hearing is just as important as treating hearing loss. Prolonged exposure to loud noise can cause permanent damage, making prevention essential. We offer a range of custom hearing protection solutions for musicians, swimmers, people working in noisy environments, and those who regularly attend concerts or live events. These solutions are designed to protect your hearing without compromising comfort or sound quality.

Our audiologist will help you choose the most suitable option for your lifestyle and long-term hearing health.

Tinnitus Consultations

Tinnitus is the perception of sounds such as ringing, buzzing, or hissing in the ears and can have a significant impact on daily life. The first step in managing tinnitus is a thorough understanding of your hearing health. Our audiologist will carry out a free comprehensive hearing assessment and discuss personalised management strategies based on your results, helping you find relief and ongoing support.

Hearing Care FAQs

Are hearing tests really free?
Yes. Our hearing tests are completely free for adults aged 18 and over, with no obligation to purchase hearing aids.

How long does a hearing test take?
Most hearing tests take around 90 minutes, allowing plenty of time for a thorough assessment, discussion of your hearing concerns, a clear explanation of your results, and a review of your options if hearing solutions are needed.

Do I need a GP referral?
No. You do not need a referral from your GP to book a hearing test or any of our hearing care services.

What happens if hearing loss is found?
If hearing loss is detected, your audiologist will explain the results and talk you through suitable options. There is no pressure or obligation to proceed with treatment.

Can ear wax affect hearing?
Yes. A build-up of ear wax can block sound and cause temporary hearing loss. Removing the wax often restores hearing clarity quickly.

Do you offer aftercare?
Yes. We provide ongoing aftercare, adjustments, and support to ensure your hearing aids continue to perform at their best.
